2003

In 2003, cancer survivor and Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong teamed up with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company to sponsor the TOUR OF HOPE™, an unprecedented week-long, coast-to-coast, cycling event. During the Tour, the 26-member team of cancer survivors, caregivers, physicians, nurses and researchers raised awareness of cancer research and the importance of clinical trials in developing new treatments.

Reyataz® (atazanavir sulfate), the first protease inhibitor for the treatment of HIV/AIDS with once-a-day dosing, was introduced in the U.S. in July 2003.
